Education
Introduction to Sports Injuries Management
The aim of this course is to provide an
introductory overview of the diagnosis,
predisposing factors, mechanisms and treatment
options, including surgical techniques, of
commonly encountered injuries sustained playing
sport. A further aim is to understand the
knowledge requirements in relation to sports
injuries for the MRCS diploma examination, the
fellowship of the College of Emergency Medicine
(FCEM) and the Faculty of Sports and Exercise
Medicine (FSEM) diploma. Sports trauma is a
currently growing specialty and a particularly
timely one, when considering the rise of
interest accompanying the 2012 Olympics.
