Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon

Dr Russell Lock qualified from Westminster Medical School, London, in 1969. He trained in general surgery at Westminster, Southend, and Bournemouth and in Colorectal Surgery at St Mark's Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA.

He was appointed to the Consultant staff of the Whittington and Royal Northern Hospitals, London in 1982, as a general surgeon with a special interest in Colorectal Surgery.

Privately he practices at The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth in St John's Wood and Highgate Private Hospital. His practice encompasses General Surgery including hernia surgery. He specialises in anorectal surgery and problems with rectal bleeding.

He has published and lectured widely in this country and abroad on general and colorectal surgery. He also works in underdeveloped countries to train surgeons.
